On January9, 2014 the annual National Science and Technology Awards Conference held in Beijing. Representing School of EE, Director of the National Institute of ASIC participatedin the awards ceremony.
ASIC and the eastern Jiangsu IC ASIC System Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. jointly developed "the Key technologies and applications of rural services on safe and reliable financial electronic transactions", which has received the State Award of Science and Technology. After years of research and evaluation of the project, the technique has been applied to 31 provinces around China. It hasbecome the largest rural holdings, the most extensive coverage of specialized electronic transaction terminal over 9 years, supporting farmers' withdrawals,small-amount loan, new agricultural insurance as well as 30 kinds of featuredservices in rural areas. The service has covered more than 60 million households, including 200 million farmers to enjoy the modern financial services.
This is a second award of national science and technology for School of EE, since the state award of technological invention in 2009.
